AnatoGO: A Proposal for a Student-Created Immersive Environment for Anatomy Education

Medical education increasingly demands active and experiential learning approaches, particularly in anatomy, which requires strong spatial understanding. Immersive technologies offer opportunities to enhance visualization, interaction, and engagement, but their adoption is often constrained by technical barriers. This paper presents AnatoGO, a proposal for a student-created immersive environment designed to support anatomy education in medical programs. Built on a low-code metaverse platform, the proposed environment is organized into thematic rooms by body systems and integrates three-dimensional anatomical models, explanatory content, and introductory clinical cases. An initial exploratory validation was conducted with a small group of students and faculty to collect preliminary feedback on usability and perceived educational value. Initial perceptions indicate positive opportunities for engagement, anatomical understanding, and collaborative learning. Although still under development, the AnatoGO proposal shows potential as a complementary educational resource and as an example of End-User Development (EUD) applied to immersive learning in health education.
