Abstract

This paper presents the development, implementation, and evaluation of an immersive training program on Brazilian Regulatory Standard No. 6 (NR-6) and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), developed in a metaverse environment. The training was applied to infrastructure and maintenance workers of a Brazilian higher education institution and aimed to complement traditional occupational safety training through a more interactive and experiential approach. Data were collected through pre-training and post-training questionnaires embedded in the immersive environment, combining objective, Likert-type scale, and open-ended questions. The results indicate high participant engagement, positive perceptions regarding clarity and usability, and a consistent understanding of the importance of PPE in daily work activities. Despite minor technical challenges related to digital familiarity, the findings suggest that metaverse-based training can effectively support occupational safety education and enhance engagement in corporate training contexts.
