Abstract

The Temporal Ethics and the Shifting Self workshop introduces a pedagogical framework that uses procedurally generated dilemmas and generative AI to enhance civic reasoning. Moving beyond static moral puzzles, the workshop employs adaptive AI-generated scenarios that respond to participant decisions, fostering a sense of agency and ethical consequence. As participants navigate tensions between individual values and collective responsibility, their choices are synthesized into an ethical profile: a reflective artifact mapping patterns in moral orientation that help participants reflect on future societal challenges.
