The increasing complexity of field service operations in different industries, presents companies with the challenge of maintaining and improving their workforce expertise. Employees need to be efficiently trained in different key specialized equipment and procedures. To do so, companies need to consider challenges such as access to equipment (or physical mock-ups) and the challenging logistics of getting people to them, among other issues. In this paper, we present a work-in-progress web-based VR simulator that aims to enhance and facilitate the hands-on training process for field service telecommunication engineers. We present an implementation of the simulator and report preliminary results of user evaluation.
