Shadowglen: Global Art Studies in Virtual Reality is a work-in-progress curriculum. It is a fully scalable, immersive, artifact-based course of study designed to foster learner agency in the e-learning process. Students explore a visually contextualized virtual island and interact with virtual artifacts linked to a broad variety of online open educational resources. The course employs a range of both digital and virtual media and encourages metaliteracies commonly considered critical to success in the 21st century. The format can be readily adapted to any number of visual arts curricula.
